    jazzy project (modern, maybe ambient) - looking for like minded musicians

    i play saxophone (soprano and tenor), with pedals too, and have been wanting to have a project where we write songs with structure but improvisation within - the goal is to rehearse weekly (e.g. monday evenings or thursday evenings), gig and record. jazz background (my level is intermediate, probably, with an ok understanding of theory, good with chords, scales, etc) i really like bands like portico quartet, but i am open to the use of different sounds, mixing electronic and acoustic. i like music to move forwards/progress, listen a lot to jazz, modern jazz, classical as well as rock (post-rock, indie, new wave, 80s music, electronic (dark wave)) i got a rehearsal space where we could jam, maybe have a couple of tracks to use as staring points - as a band forms, then everybody chips in. i also play guitar in another post-rock project (but that is totally separate - here my focus stays on saxophone and maybe help out with basic midi synths (i am more limited there)). write to me if this sounds like something u also really want. instrument, gender, gender identity, language, all in - let us play, write together, gig and record (ideally u have experience in these areas already). looking forward to hearing from you!

    MusikerIn sucht I am looking to form a new band based in Berlin and therefore seeking out to other musicians. Would you like to and would you be able to work with something like the song DEMOCRACY - AS THE LIGHTS FADE? That's from my current band and I want to go into something more „moody" and less progressive, if you can say so. Nevertheless the song example refers to some technical stuff that should be possible for you to do (especially drums). And hopefully in general you think it is nice to listen to, but let‘s talk about it. Influence: Little bit of Industrial and Electronic, Death Metal/Core, Metalcore (no sing-songy Chorus), descent amount of Hardcore, small little bit of Black. I guess also Alternative / Nu Metal. Understandable (and in some parts clean) vocals. Clear goals: 1. More than one coming together per week for better practice, exchange of ideas and social interaction (no excessive drinking, no drugs) 2. Around one gig per month with potential for more 3. Touring No sexism or Afd-shit. Age: around 25-36 I myself am live experienced, have some gear knowledge and also some studio experience. But that’s not necessarily a criteria regarding you.     MusikerIn sucht Hey, Ich bin Raphael, habe mein Leben lang Musik gehört und gelebt und suche jemanden, mit dem ich Kreativität gemeinsam erleben / beleben kann & darf. Ursprünglich spiel ich Schlagzeug, hab mir zu Corona Zeiten Gitarre beigebracht und kann auch etwas an Tasten klimpern, vor allem versuche ich aber seit ca 1-2 Jahren mit elektronischen Devices, Synths, Effekten und entsprechend auch Production rumzuspielen und mich selbst etwas zu auszudrücken. Im Vordergdung fing alles als purer Spaß und "Zeitvertreib" an, ist es auch immer noch im Vordergrund, entdecke und lerne primär, merke aber gleichzeitig, dass ich da doch gerne mehr mit anstellen würde. Ich sitze auf bestimmt 30-40 ganz schönen Loops und Ideen, kann diese auch schnell entwickeln aber stelle immer wieder fest, dass mir bei der Auseinandersetzung jemand fehlt, mit dem ich das reflektieren und ergänzen kann. Vor allem fehlt mir meistens immer eine Hauptkomponente um ein echtes "Song-Format" zu stricken: Gesang... ich hab zwar nen gutes Verständnis von Harmonie und Melodien, aber mag vermutlich am Ende meine eigene Stimme einfach nicht :) Richtungsmäßig finde ich im Grunde alles spannend, wo interessante Sounds, ambiente Texturen und schöne Vocals (gerne mit spannender Vocal Chain) auf was treibendes, poppiges oder auch tanzbares treffen. Also nur Ambient ist mir zu langweilig, simpler Pop zu gradlinig, am Ende versuche ich etwas zu schaffen, was emotional einen Moment schafft, der mit vielen resoniert. Wenn das für dich interessant klingt, dann meld dich gerne. In erster Linie ist wichtig, dass wir zusammen ne gute Zeit haben können und uns verstehen. Schließe aber auch nicht aus, dass man nur für was kurzes kollaboriert. Many successful bands are driven by a highly motivated core of two or three people, while the rest contribute in different ways. I'm completely open to either approach, as long as everyone is committed and shares the same vision. Songwriting I want songwriting to be as flexible as possible. We can write songs together from scratch, but members are also welcome to bring fully written riffs, demos or complete song ideas. The band can then develop, rearrange and adapt these ideas together until they become our own. Workflow One rehearsal per week focused on songwriting, rehearsing and preparing live performances. One additional weekly meeting dedicated to planning, content creation, social media and developing the project. Recording demos and singles ourselves using professional equipment. Our sound is soaked in effects ,so that the guitar and bass don't have their standard tone. Ideally you sing or would like to give it a go. Intermediate Bass skills level is great. Motivation and commitment to play on a regular basis, compose and record. We have songs and they need bass and some songs would sound great with a female vocal as main voice and you can redo lyrics if you want. We would like to jump into a studio and record as soon as possible. Currently we don't have a fixed studio and we book a room in the available studios.     Hello everybody! I’m Zoe (30) looking for interested musicians for an experimental rock/metal-adjacent band project. This is meant as a serious project with potential to hopefully release original music and regularly perform at some point, but it should always come with a start, meaning no rush and pressure from the get go, and just jam :) I’m a singer who tries to compose music from time to time and learn music theory on her own. I’m also a huge music nerd who can just talk about music and music theory for hours. My biggest influences are in post-punk, art rock, industrial rock/metal, no wave, experimental electronics and alternative metal. I’m also really interested in jazz influences and unorthodox song/rhythm structures in these genres (The Mars Volta, Refused, Mr. Bungle, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Black Country New Road, The Lounge Lizards, Squid could be first examples). Any instrument from guitar and bass to violin and saxophone are welcome! In the end of the day, I would like to find fellow music nerds who like to jam, experiment and exchange ideas.
