MusikerIn sucht Hi, I’m Kathie, 34, based in Berlin. I used to sing (band, choir, lessons) and haven’t done much with it in the last 10+ years, but I want to get back into it. Mainly vocals and composing — I also play a bit of piano/synth. I’m not looking to stick to one genre. I’d rather mix things up. I like stuff in the direction of DEAR TASH, Poppy, Bring Me the Horizon, Jutes, Spiritbox — so somewhere between alt/metalcore, a bit of rap influence, darker pop/industrial sounds, but open overall. Could also go into darkwave like Boy Harsher, Minuit Machine, Linea Aspera... I like contrast — softer vocals with heavier parts, melodic but still a bit rough around the edges. Open to joining a band, starting something new, or just jamming and seeing what happens. I’m not a beginner, but also getting back into it, so figuring things out again :) For now it’s more on a hobby/creative level, but I’d be up for playing gigs if it evolves that way. Old Blood è una dichiarazione di appartenenza. È una linea tracciata nel sangue — quello maturo, quello dei primordi — tra chi ha vissuto l'epoca d'oro del Metal/Punk. Cerco persone, prima ancora che musicisti. Cerco individui dai 40 anni in su, non per una questione anagrafica fine a sé stessa, ma perché ci sono esperienze che non si simulano, non si recuperano su YouTube e non si imparano con i tutorial. Old Blood è rivolto a chi c’era, quando non c’era quasi nulla. Quando la musica non era un contenuto. Quando l’underground non era un hashtag. Quando non esistevano le scorciatoie. CHI STO CERCANDO Sto cercando: Batterista Chitarrista Tastierista Ma soprattutto sto cercando menti libere, orecchie formate da lunghi ascolti di 33 giri e non da playlist su Spotify. Significa essere cresciuti in un’epoca in cui: Le demo si scambiavano via posta, dentro buste consumate Le cassette giravano di mano in mano, registrate cento volte Le fanzine erano fotocopiate, storte, sporche di inchiostro Per scoprire una band dovevi cercarla, non scrollarla Le informazioni erano frammenti preziosi, non flussi infiniti Significa aver vissuto quando: Non esistevano “scene ufficiali” Non c’erano locali tematici ovunque Le sale prove non erano sale prove, ma scantinati, box, magazzini adattati L’attrezzatura era quella che c’era — e ci si faceva bastare quella Si suonava perché non farlo era impossibile UNDERGROUND: NON UN GENERE, MA UNA POSIZIONE ESISTENZIALE Per me Underground non è un genere musicale. È una presa di posizione. Underground significa: Libertà totale di espressione Libertà totale di azione Nessuna richiesta di permesso Nessun bisogno di approvazione Significa suonare fuori dalla logica del mercato, delle mode, dei numeri, degli algoritmi. Significa poter passare: Da un brano Thrash a uno Doom Da un’attitudine Punk a strutture Death Da atmosfere Black a derive Stoner Da minimalismo ossessivo a caos controllato Senza dover giustificare nulla a nessuno. LA MUSICA: UNA CONSEGUENZA, NON UN OBIETTIVO In Old Blood, la musica non è il punto di partenza. È una conseguenza. La priorità è: La visione L’attitudine L’onestà Non cerco: Virtuosismi sterili Competizioni tecniche Ego ipertrofico Persone che devono dimostrare qualcosa Cerco musicisti che abbiano già dimostrato tutto a sé stessi. Persone che sanno quando suonare, e quando mettersi al servizio del brano. Persone che conoscono il valore della nota in meno, della ghost note per dare maggiore risalto all'atmosfera del pezzo piuttosto che buttare l'ennesimo riff tanto per generare rumore. ESPERIENZA VISSUTA, NON RACCONTATA Old Blood è per chi: Ha suonato in band spesso finite male o finite troppo presto Ha visto progetti morire per stanchezza, incomprensioni, vita reale Ha caricato ampli su scale impossibili Ha suonato per dieci persone e dato tutto comunque Ha accettato che la musica non ti deve nulla È per chi sa che: La dedizione non si posta La passione non si monetizza sempre La coerenza costa fatica COSA NON STO CERCANDO Non cerco: Persone in cerca di “successo” Persone ossessionate dai social Persone che vogliono copiare una band precisa Persone che chiedono “dove possiamo arrivare” prima ancora di iniziare Persone che confondono l’underground con l’improvvisazione senza direzione Old Blood non è un passatempo. Non è una jam del weekend. Non è un contenitore per frustrazioni personali. È un progetto serio, ma non professionale nel senso industriale. ETÀ, TEMPO, VITA Siamo adulti. Significa essere cresciuti in un’epoca in cui: Le demo si scambiavano via posta, dentro buste consumate Le cassette giravano di mano in mano, registrate cento volte Le fanzine erano fotocopiate, storte, sporche di inchiostro Per scoprire una band dovevi cercarla, non scrollarla Le informazioni erano frammenti preziosi, non flussi infiniti Significa aver vissuto quando: Non esistevano “scene ufficiali” Non c’erano locali tematici ovunque Le sale prove non erano sale prove, ma scantinati, box, magazzini adattati L’attrezzatura era quella che c’era — e ci si faceva bastare quella Si suonava perché non farlo era impossibile UNDERGROUND: NON UN GENERE, MA UNA POSIZIONE ESISTENZIALE Per me Underground non è un genere musicale. È una presa di posizione. Underground significa: Libertà totale di espressione Libertà totale di azione Nessuna richiesta di permesso Nessun bisogno di approvazione Significa suonare fuori dalla logica del mercato, delle mode, dei numeri, degli algoritmi. Significa poter passare: Da un brano Thrash a uno Doom Da un’attitudine Punk a strutture Death Da atmosfere Black a derive Stoner Da minimalismo ossessivo a caos controllato Senza dover giustificare nulla a nessuno. LA MUSICA: UNA CONSEGUENZA, NON UN OBIETTIVO In Old Blood, la musica non è il punto di partenza. È una conseguenza. La priorità è: La visione L’attitudine L’onestà Non cerco: Virtuosismi sterili Competizioni tecniche Ego ipertrofico Persone che devono dimostrare qualcosa Cerco musicisti che abbiano già dimostrato tutto a sé stessi. Persone che sanno quando suonare, e quando mettersi al servizio del brano. Persone che conoscono il valore della nota in meno, della ghost note per dare maggiore risalto all'atmosfera del pezzo piuttosto che buttare l'ennesimo riff tanto per generare rumore. ESPERIENZA VISSUTA, NON RACCONTATA Old Blood è per chi: Ha suonato in band spesso finite male o finite troppo presto Ha visto progetti morire per stanchezza, incomprensioni, vita reale Ha caricato ampli su scale impossibili Ha suonato per dieci persone e dato tutto comunque Ha accettato che la musica non ti deve nulla È per chi sa che: La dedizione non si posta La passione non si monetizza sempre La coerenza costa fatica COSA NON STO CERCANDO Non cerco: Persone in cerca di “successo” Persone ossessionate dai social Persone che vogliono copiare una band precisa Persone che chiedono “dove possiamo arrivare” prima ancora di iniziare Persone che confondono l’underground con l’improvvisazione senza direzione Old Blood non è un passatempo. Non è una jam del weekend. Non è un contenitore per frustrazioni personali. È un progetto serio, ma non professionale nel senso industriale. ETÀ, TEMPO, VITA Siamo adulti. Abbiamo lavori, famiglie, responsabilità. Proprio per questo: Il tempo è prezioso Le energie vanno spese bene IN CONCLUSIONE Old Blood è per chi sente ancora: Il bisogno fisico di suonare Il bisogno mentale di creare Il bisogno emotivo di condividere qualcosa di autentico È per chi ha sangue maturo nelle vene, ma fuoco ancora acceso.
